Farrah LaRue, Earrings, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, Zuni, 2 1/2"
Description
Hopi artists came together to develop a Hopi style art. The overlay designs that incorporate symbols from their culture are world-renowned. Navajo silversmiths, even though their Nation is large and spreads into three states, have a very similar style of big silver and stone art across the reservation, Navajo style. Just like the Navajo and Hopi the Zuni have a certain look to their jewelry. Beginning with the shaping of fetishes the Zuni have always been involved with stones. That led to the easy transition into jewelry with petti point and needlepoint cuts. We have put together a collection of coral and turquoise earrings that honor that Zuni tradition.
