Kee Yazzie, Mediterranean Coral Bracelet, Origin Story, Navajo Handmade, 6 1/2"

Description

The Four Corners is a fascinating region. It is rich with history and home to a number of different Native American tribes. Each of these tribes has an origin story, and many times it seems like some are very similar. Navajo silversmith Kee Yazzie recreates the story of the Zuni people. They entered this world through the deep canyons of the Four Corners in a lizard like body with long tails. Those canyon walls are later filled with these early stories in the way of petroglyphs. This is a beautiful cuff and an amazing story, something you are going to look forward daily to share with those around you. A single piece of deep red Mediterranean Coral sits off the face of the lizard, and when you turn it over it is filled with rock art designs.
