One of the best day trips from Gallup would be a visit to Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, AZ. This is about an hour and ten-minute drive from Gallup and takes you through Window Rock and over the Summit, spectacular scenery. Hubbell Trading Post has attempted to let you take a step back in time to see how a post operated in the early 1900s on the Navajo Reservation. Plus, many times they will have a weaver on site that demonstrates the art. Navajo silversmith Edison Sandy Smith doesn’t live far from the legendary post and his revival style of silver has been influenced by this holding onto the traditions of the Navajo silversmith. Edison has filled this long ring with his signature style stamp work. Everything comes together on this beautiful ring.
