Shirley Lahi, Earrings, Dangle Needlepoint, Sleeping Beauty, Zuni, 2 1/2"

Zuni petit point is a classic style from this New Mexico Pueblo. You will find it done in turquoise, coral and newer work will have it in almost any color you can think of. These easy to wear pierced dangle earrings have been made by Zuni artist Shirley Lahi. The cluster of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise needlepoint stones sit on a big oval sterling silver background that has been cut out in the middle. You will notice around the stones it is difficult for the artist to polish the silver, giving it that dark background that really makes the color of the blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise stand out.
