Lester James, Bracelet, Yei' be Chei', Tufa Cast, Carving, Navajo Made, 6 7/8"
The Yei' be chei' Ceremonies are performed in the fall and winter months. You will find that the ceremonies are not all for the same reason, and the Yei' is not always the same. Each Yei' has different powers such as the Rainbow Yei' and Cloud Yei' and so on. Navajo artist Lester James celebrates those ceremonies with this fascinating work of art. Lester places the Yei' at the center of the bracelet with a feathers carved all the way around. You will find the hand of the Yei' holds this robe closed on one side of the cuff, the other shows the night sky carved into the silver. If you look for Native American art that tells a story about the culture then this cuff is it. Check out all of Lester's amazing creations on the online Trading Post.
