Lester James, Tufa Cast Ring, Deer Head, Various Turquoise, Navajo Handmade, 8

Description

Zuni artist Juan de Dios was a silversmith for legendary Indian Trader C.G. Wallace. Do a google search and you will see how creative this artist was. Navajo silversmith was inspired by one of Juan's pieces, a turquoise inlay ring with a deer head. Lester uses a variety of turquoise mines to create that older turn color look that a Juan de Dios ring has. The large antlers of the deer reach over the inlaid stones giving the ring that unique look. Using a tufa casting technique gives the silver a very nice weight that translates to a solid ring. You will love having this ring in your collection and on your finger.
