Zuni jewelry artists have specialized in lapidary work. They create amazing pieces of art, and many times those pieces are filled with very small cuts of stones. You will find a variety of pieces done in mosaic inlay, channel inlay and needlepoint by Zuni artists. This bolo is made by Zuni artist Octavius Seowtewa and is a magnificent piece. The style of this type of stonework is often referred to as needlepoint. Over twenty cuts of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise fill the circular shaped bolo. Octavius adds small sterling silver drops around the stones to complete the look. A braided leather cord and sterling custom tips finish the piece.
