The first eagle I saw on the Navajo Nation was a golden perched on a red rock cliff on the way to Chinle. When that eagle took flight it was one of the most impressive things I had ever seen. The sky in these parts is a magnificent blue and it covers a wide open landscape. It seemed like you could see the detail of that flying eagle against the Navajo Nation landscape backdrop. Navajo silversmith Bo Reeves captures that inflight eagle with this old style stamped pendant. Right in the center he places a star, maybe it is meant to represent the night sky.
