Arland Ben, Bracelet, Bisbee Turquoise, Coin Silver, 14k, Navajo Handmade, 8"
Arland Ben, Bracelet, Bisbee Turquoise, Coin Silver, 14k, Navajo Handmade, 8"
Navajo artist Arland Ben could tell you more about old Navajo silver pieces and processes than anyone. This creative silversmith is fascinated by the early techniques of Navajo jewelry making. It is this passion that draws him to making works of wearable art just like those early smiths. He has used a collection of Morgan silver dollars to make this large coin silver cuff. You will find he decorates the bracelet with the style of stamp work that would have filled those pieces from the late 1800s. Arland is always on the lookout for old stamps and many he uses can be several decades old. It doesn't stop at the silver, this bracelet showcases a unique old piece of Bisbee Turquoise that has a nugget style cut and beautiful webbing. Plus, he drops four small 14k gold drops around the stone.
