Darryl Dean Begay, Bracelet, Ocean Jasper, Parrot, Tufa, Navajo Handmade, 6 3/4"
Before historians started writing about the first civilizations of the Southwest and Navajo land showed up on the first global maps it was an already very established place with lots of people. You had an extensive trade system that reached down into South American and up to Canada. When archaeologists showed up here in the Four Corners and started digging through ancient ruins they started to put together this extensive trading system with what they uncovered. One of the most intriguing finds was a Macaw feather apron which demonstrated this vast trade network. Navajo silversmith celebrates that history with this tufa cast bracelet. He has carved the Macaw into this beautiful bracelet. The use of Ocean Jasper was the perfect choice of stone.
