Navajo artist Darryl Dean Begay has been a Best of Show Winner at the Santa Fe Indian Market and won a number of Blue Ribbons for his art. This container with lid is First Place winner at the 2019 Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial and is a testimony to the skill and artistic talent of this dedicated artist. Darryl makes much of his art with Navajo themes that he draws from his beautiful culture. This piece shows the traditional life of the Navajo and the importance of holding onto this beautiful way of life. You will find the lid is filled with a mature corn stalk and when you turn it over a hummingbird rests inside. This is a very stunning creation that will be a great addition to your collection.
