Aaron Anderson, Bracelet, Contemporary, Tufa Carving, Navajo Made, 6 3/4 ”
If you go to any of the big Native American art shows like the Heard and Santa Fe Indian Market, you are not going to meet Navajo silversmith Aaron Anderson there. This award-winning artist doesn’t leave Gallup very often, but that doesn’t mean you will not find his influence at these prestigious shows. A number of well-known artists who work in tufa casting and carving make their way through his shop, some just to visit and others to get an idea of what can all be done using this technique. Aaron’s contemporary designs are so unique that you have a difficult time thinking of another original design after seeing his work. Lately he has been playing around with this unusual concept and it won’t be long before you see the idea show up in others' work. Carved lines meet at the center and filled with stamp work and distinct edges make this a piece to awe at. The little opening in the center where the silver gets real thin is just another style point to this already amazing piece.
