Squash Blossom Necklace, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, C. 1980, Signed, 27"
This traditional Navajo squash blossom necklace is filled with beautiful pieces of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. The age reveals some change in color in the stone and an aged patina that gives the piece a wonderful vintage character. All the stones have been surrounded by classic silver work that includes the crescent moon and silver drop border. Also, the cluster setting really brings attention to the piece, almost 100 stones are found on the necklace. It is a circa 1980s piece with the artist hallmark (pictograph) on the back of the naja, an arrowhead. If you have been wanting something stunning and traditional to show your appreciation of stunning First American wearable art, then this is the piece for you.
