The Serpent of the Sea is an old Zuni legend. It is a story of a young maiden who is taken to the water spring by the persuading Serpent and spends eternity there with him. Zuni artist Ruddell Laconsello brings this legend back to life with this incredible piece of art. He has decorated the serpent with jet, turquoise, coral, and shell. Ruddell has etched the background to bring out the colors and shapes of the inlaid figures. It is designed to be worn as a pin or pendant. You will appreciate the size of the piece, something that is going to be very easy to wear and show off. Ruddell, along with his wife Nancy created magnificent pieces of mosaic inlay.
