Lupe Lovato, Santo Domingo Necklace, Kingman, Spiny Oyster, Handmade, 20”
Lupe Lovato, Santo Domingo Necklace, Kingman, Spiny Oyster, Handmade, 20”
This necklace is handmade by Santo Domingo artist Lupe Lovato. The Santo Domingo Pueblo is between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, both cities are large Native American art markets. However, the Navajo are big fans of the Santo Domingo style necklaces and have developed a trade system with many Santo Domingo artists that make the long journey to Gallup, instead of Santa Fe & Albuquerque, to sell their art. This necklace is a fabulous piece of art that has hand drilled Arizona turquoise beads, with a comfortable tapered design. A collection of red spiny oyster shell sets at the end. It is amazing how good this will look on you, a wonderful Southwest style piece. Turquoise is the color of the Southwest and everyone who sees you wear this will understand your appreciation of First American art.
