Julian Chavez, Bracelet, Kingman Turquoise, Stamping, Navajo Handmade, 7 1/4"
Julian Chavez, Bracelet, Kingman Turquoise, Stamping, Navajo Handmade, 7 1/4"
This bracelet reminds of the work the late Thomas Curtis use to create. Not many silversmiths now how to take such a thick piece of silver, 10 gauge, and give it all this design. Especially the traditional long oval bump outs found on each side of the stone. Julian Chavez is a student of Navajo silver and his skills have been passed down through generations. He begins with an amazing piece of Kingman Turquoise that has a combination of light and dark blues with a web of black matrix flowing through it. That impressive stone needed equally impressive silver, and that is exactly what Julian delivered. The wide silver cuff is filled with traditional stamp designs and the silver has been given the rustic brushed finish. Great silver deserves an appreciative home.
