Philander Begay, Belt Buckle, Deer, Hunter, Turquoise, Navajo Handmade, 1 1/8"
Philander Begay, Belt Buckle, Deer, Hunter, Turquoise, Navajo Handmade, 1 1/8"
This Navajo hunter on the back of the buckle searches the Four Corners for food. He finally spots a buck with the high peaks of the Rockies behind the large animal. Navajo artist Philander Begay made this beautifully detailed buckle. He has used his award-winning tufa carving/casting technique that allows him lots of detail. You will find Philander has added the hoof prints of the deer in turquoise. This is a very interesting work of wearable art, something a little different. A great buckle for those who love Native American culture and handmade art.
