Navajo artist Lee Begay uses the Yei' be Chei' design in many pieces of his handmade art. The Yei is a Navajo Holy Person who exists between two worlds, and the Yei' be Chei' ceremony brings those worlds together. It makes sense that this spiritual figure would be the inspiration behind so many pieces of Navajo art. This gorgeous buckle was made using tufa casting techniques. Lee uses turquoise to highlight the three night ceremony dancers. Plus, you will find the night stars filling the background along with a dragonfly and hummingbird.
