Verla J Nez, Rug, Four In One, Navajo, 21" x 91"
Description
Traders like JB Moore would be the first to introduce Navajo art to collectors back east, but rugs (not silver) first captured the imaginations of collectors and decorators. Following Moore's lead, other traders began marketing Navajo weaving, even influencing many of the well-known styles. Today styles are not defined by regions but perfected by dedicated weavers from all parts of the Navajo Nation. We have put together a large collection of rugs in our online Trading Post and hope you take time to look through them all. Hopefully, you will find the perfect rug.
Eye Dazzlers
Eye Dazzlers are just that: dazzling. They can be any color combination, and the idea is to make them capture the imagination. The filled rugs are much like Navajo silver where simplicity is thrown out the window, and the more dazzle the better. Enjoy looking through our many different Eye Dazzlers, some with classic colors and others with very unique combinations.
Storm Pattern
The Storm Pattern is a favorite among many collectors. This style of rug features an amazing design that starts at the center and reaches out to the four corners of the weaving. You will also find the weaving filled with many other symbols. Storm rugs come in many different colors, and some of the most popular use classic combinations like Ganado Red. These are very impressive weavings, and it is not uncommon to find one of these in the 10-foot range.
