Harrison Jim, Bracelet, Tufa Cast, Coral, Navajo, 7"

Description

Set right in the center of this double tufa cast design is a magnificent piece of dark red Mediterranean Coral. Navajo silversmith Harrison Jim sets the stone in an almost shadow box setting that really helps bring out the rich dark red colors and bring your attention to the heavy silver design. When John Adair wrote his classic work on the Navajo and Pueblo Silversmiths he was lucky enough to spend some time with Tom Burnside. This legendary Navajo artist took the time to make something from tufa stone, and when I see pieces done in this technique I am always reminded of unrefined beauty of Navajo silver. Harrison has begun to make many pieces in this classic style, and we are going to put a collection of them on the online Trading Post, make sure you add one to your collection.
