Dan Etsate, Ring, Multi-Stone, Zuni, 7

Description

In the late 1800s a Navajo silversmith taught a Zuni artist, Lanyade, the art of jewelry making. It wouldn't be silver that defined the Zuni silversmith, but instead his mastery of stone. Styles like inlay and small needlepoint have become what Zuni artists are known for. Plus, they take the time to make small pieces of art that are very different from the large works of the Navajo. This needle point ring is filled with tons of small hand picked and shaped turquoise, shell, gaspeite, lapis and coral stones. Artist Dan Etsate has mastered this needlepoint style. You will fall in love with this piece of art and it is a wonderful way to show your appreciation of Native American art daily.
